Canadians Know How To Riot

This was a riot the likes of which you don't often see anywhere in the world, let alone a picturesque Canadian seaport. But when there's hockey involved, and you're on the losing side, and you're a hockey-loving Canadian who apparently react very poorly to losing, those are as good of excuses as any to set cars ablaze and generally terrorize major downtown streets. These photos might help tell the story:

Looks like that's right downtown. Geez, mob mentality is a flamable thing...as are cars, apparently.

Eerily reminiscent of the view off the shore of Manhattan after 9/11.

Seriously? The word is this kid is a national team water polo player who has been subsequently suspended.

Wow. Maybe Boston should've just let the Canucks win.

As always, Taiwanese animators have a take on the situation.

But at least one lucky couple was able to find romance amid the fire, riot police and random violence.

All over a hockey game...I must say though, these Canucks put Sparty to shame when it comes to rioting.

Happy Birthday!! Larry D. turned 50. We had a cookout yesterday. Just returned from eating with my dad & the Goare's celebrating his birthday. We are getting ready for vacation.
Nat bailed out from going with us as she is headed to Bandon, Oregon. Her boyfriend won a golf tournament to participate in the U.S. Public Links. If he qualifies next Mon-Tues. he will be on TV on Wed. He wins a few tournaments. TT (Tim is a good kid). Larry D. is stuck with only me. We will be having fun with 5 condos of Myrtle Beach friends. We were going to be with 4 college students. Nat will freeze in Orgegon as the highs right now are only 59 degrees. The name of the course is Bandon Dunes Resort. It looks beautiful. It is a long flight. She just finished her summer class on Friday. She is excited to have the month of Dec. & Jan free during her senior year since she took this 1 class. Ended her year with A's & B's. Her plans are to continue college to become a nurse practioner. We still think she will move to Tampa area next year. I keep thinking only 2 1/2 hour flight. Whatever works best for her & makes her happy. There will be plentiful tears when that day comes. My dad doesn't like to hear about Nat moving away as we have always been 3 houses up the street since Nat was a baby.
